Adding Blacklist takes "forever" on rpi3
Posted by: momothecat - 10-06-2020, 01:48 AM - Forum: Blacklist - Replies (4)

Hi all,

I'm using RPI 3B+ as h/w for keexybox. When I tried to add the blacklist from shallalist it takes more than 3 hours until my box responding again and adding blocklist from v.firebog.net takes more then 1 hour. Is that normal operation?

Anybody have experience with RPI 4?

Thanks

  Profile confusion
Posted by: Mattallyc - 09-27-2020, 10:28 PM - Forum: Profiles - Replies (3)

Hi all,

Hoping you can help, today I installed KeexyBox and appear to have it running OK apart from one issue. I've created a profile called bedtime to schedule internet access times for certain devices and assigned them to this profile. If I look at devices under Connection Settings I can see they have the bedtime profile but if I look under Connections they still have the default profile. Therefore the bedtime profile rules aren't being activated. If I view the connection details from the Connections list it also says default.
Have I done something wrong or is there a bug?!

For info I downloaded the image and flashed it to an SD card as per the installation instructions.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Matt

  redirect page for login
Posted by: momothecat - 09-27-2020, 10:20 AM - Forum: Miscellaneous settings - Replies (7)

Hi,
I was searching simple and good solution for internet access parental control for home user, and I found this product.

Configuration a little bit confusing because using two ip address on the same NIC, but I managed it.

I setup the box only for DNS only, and I already setup a client using DNS from keexybox, but it looks like it missing dns redirection for initial connection, or am i missing something in the configuration?

Thanks
Momo

Is there a plan to be able to install this on CentOS?  Seems like it shouldn't be too difficult.  But as I go through all the install scripts I'm finding its a bit cumbersome.

What is the recommended method for "disabling DHCP on my internet router", when my Internet router is an Airport Express?

  DHCP server not starting
Posted by: bakullama - 05-24-2020, 03:59 PM - Forum: DHCP - Replies (8)

I'm trying to set up the keexybox on a raspberry pi 3B+, from the installation script, and the dhcp server is not starting properly. I've turned off the dhcp server on my router, however it gives me the following message when I try to start the server from the console, while logged in as an admin:

Quote:Service dhcp start failed.

I've generated the dhcp file again, but no dice.
Any tips on how I can troubleshoot would be greatly appreciated! And please let me know if there's any more information I can provide.
